• Our Very Hungry Caterpillar: The End!

So we’ve really had a blast coming up with all these Very Hungry Caterpillar activities this week, but it’s time to start something new! We’ll keep our mini bulletin board up to remember our fun for the time being though. In case your kids are really into the “CATERPILLAR!!!” the way mine are I thought I’d share a few of our cool Hungry Caterpillar toys! Click any of the pictures to get your own or learn more!

  • The Very Hungry Caterpillar: Day Four

We had another gorgeous summer day here so we spent most of it outside. Lots of time for walks around the park and playing on the playground! Although we did have a lot of fun wrapping ourselves in “Cocoons” while we waited for our little sister to wake up this morning. The kids loved having me wrap them up tight in our brown blanket and bursting their way out! Plus we played lots of peekaboo and one of our old favorites “dark” where we all just sit under a blanket and go “ooo its dark” (don’t ask me why but this has been a favorite and much requested game for…

  • Our Very Hungry Caterpillar: Day Three

Wowzah! Today was a much better day! And we discovered the source of yesterdays bad mojo – Two new molars are coming through! My oldest was with some friends for a bit today so it was just me and the ‘little’ ones. We busted out our caterpillar tunnel and had a great time chasing each other through it! My 15 month old was even able to say “excuse me” when she wanted to get out and her sister was blocking the door. They love closing the door and peeking through the little window, getting tickles from the outside and will just laugh and laugh simply crawling through to each other.…

  • Hungry Caterpillar: Day Two

Sometimes things just don’t go over as well as you think they will! Even though today was slightly less hectic than yesterday we’ve been having a tougher time. One of the babes woke up on the wrong side of the bed and if one is off it tends to set them all off a bit. Trying to remember my patience this morning and instead of our usual reminders about whose turn it is next for a diaper change or to get cleaned up from lunch I spent some extra time giving everybody hugs. Most behavioralists will tell you that bad behavior from a toddler is all about getting attention and…

  • Our Very Hungry Caterpillar: Day One

So today was kind of a crazy day – our fridge broke and we had to have someone out to fix it. Personally I love how outgoing my kids are most of the time but today they just kept wanting to say hi, tell the poor guy he was being too noisy, that he shouldn’t touch wires, how they wanted to try his tools and of course show him their socks. Which while adorable wasn’t very helpful… Luckily we were able to contain them slightly in their highchairs with a snack so he could actually finish! Then we had appointments most of the morning and late naps for the kids.…

  • Rainy Morning Butterflies

My “big” two and I are kicking off this rainy day with some arts & crafts for a little impromptu activity time. While they were eating breakfast and I realized we weren’t making it to the pool today due to the downpour (and while two year old already told me he was ready to go to the playground) I decided it was time to try painting again. Since we were out of just about every color construction paper – I needed to use up the random leftovers and so we made some butterflies. While they finished eatingĀ I did some simple construction paper cut outs that took all of two minutes.…
