Sesame Place: The Chaos of Fun

So you might say I’m a glutton for punishment, but I love to take my babies to theme parks! This is the first time we’ve gone with all three little ones in tow, but far from the first time the older two have been to a theme park.

Most of them are free until they turn 3 which is an added bonus too!

My little man is growing up so fast and I know there’s so much more to come, but he just seems like such a big kid now! He is massively in love with Elmo (he even has an Elmo with a blankey “just like him!”) so we decided to take him to Sesame Place for his birthday. It was perfection! Granted I think we spent more time driving there than being there, but I loved it! And the kids seemed to love it too! Nothing better than spending a fun day with the kids without any of the usual clean up, laundry, or other day-to-day stresses.

We started with a character breakfast – which don’t think anything exciting food wise – it’s like a hotel buffet breakfast except that we had Bert, Ernie, Elmo and Abby to play with! Which rocked our Best Friends (free on Amazon Prime) socks off! If you don’t know it this is a great show – super short episodes, but we’re learning about tv right now and can watch one episode easily as a family.

Two out of the three LOVED the characters plus there were waffles, there was dancing, there were hugs and high fives – just heaven for the little ones. The other babe just wanted to say goodbye to the characters (although enjoyed them from afar), but really had a blast the rest of the day so it was all good!

The great thing about doing the breakfast was that it got us into the park early – so we had a locker and were sunscreened and walking over to the rides by the time they started up. Getting in most of the baby dry rides (carousel, flying circle type stuff) before most people had gotten through the security line to get into the park. While we weren’t big enough for all the rides yet they had a ton that they just had to be able to walk in order to ride. Even our youngest non-walker could do some of the more stable ones and they had a shady climbing area with tunnels she could easily crawl through to keep her entertained when she couldn’t do a ride.

By about 11 it was starting to get hot so we put on our swimsuits and hit the water park for some splashing – baby wave pools and sprinklers galore! We had so much fun splashing around in the pools & watching the big bucket of water drop (from afar – thank you very much). They had all sorts of fun water play ideas that the kids could experiment with.

Our babes started to get tired and cranky by about 1:30 (a pretty late nap for them) but that was fine as we’d had enough. I think if we come back next year when they are all two it will be the perfect time for them to enjoy it as they will be a little more adventurous and less reliant on nap time!

All in all though we had a great day and hopefully made some great memories for our little (big) guy!
