Valentines
Sure you could give your kids a block of chocolate and call it a day, but we’ve been having a blast spreading the love with some of these valentines activities – just for fun with your kids or turn them into valentines to give to all the special people your kid loves! We opted for some multimedia valentines this year (because the beads and string I was hoping to work on bracelet making with turned out to be the wrong sizes for each other). But never doubt there are always plenty of ways to use your crafts! Instead we cut out some hearts and used our new stamp set to…

Mom/Baby Work Outs!
Calling all my Mama’s with New Year’s Resolutions to get in shape or spend more time playing with your kids! Here is a little piece I wrote a while ago about all the ways I get my work out in while entertaining three babies: There aren’t many things I do that don’t involve my kids – at least when they are awake, and I’ve got enough other things to do when they are sleeping – so I don’t always get a chance to work out or go for a run like I did in my pre-baby days. Hubby and I used to enjoy the Couch to 5k app or…

Frozen 2
Our three toddlers are about as Frozen obsessed as you can get. They have been dressing up as Frozen characters since the girls went as Elsa and Anna to the fairytale ball last year, they love to choose Frozen for our family movie night and they love to read any Frozen book they can get their hands on. It’s also a favorite setting for their pretend play as they run about the house freezing each other, escaping from “Marshmellow,” or helping each other as sisters. So with the new movie coming out they’ve been enjoying watching trailer clips and listening to the new song clips that have been released. After…

Our Christmas List Year 2
We’re officially entering our second Christmas with three toddlers as opposed to three babies now and all I can says is WHOA. Their play skills have changed so much over the past year, but that’s okay because we like to choose toys that can keep up! Here’s our list of favorites that we’re looking forward to playing with for the next few years to come. Of course everything Frozen or Disney is big right now as we’ve been enjoying acting out the story of a few of our family movie nights. Mostly the kids like to listen to the soundtracks and somehow the Frozen 2 teasers got into the mix…

What To Put in The Hospital Bag?
Getting ready to head to the hospital? Check out my hosptial bag tips below! In honor of my friend giving birth any day now I’m sharing my top ten suggestions for what to pack for the hospital – whether you are a first time mom or going for the second time around and need some refreshers you won’t want to forget these. 1. A robe. This is on everyones list for a reason – just bring it and you’ll be glad you did. 2. Comfy, loose fitting (pj) pants. I originally thought skirts/dresses would be great and had brought a nightgown thinking I’d be more comfortable, but let me tell…

Orlando
We’ve finally arrived! And now that we’re here I’ve been solo with the kids for a few days while Hubby works. We are saving the big exciting splurge Orlando stuff (like Disney parks) for when he’s done so I’ve been trying to keep the toddlers entertained without going into serious debt. While I was a little worried about being on my own, it’s actually been really nice exploring with them – and Grandma is coming down soon for some pool time too! Though we have a great pool where we are staying, I for one am not brave enough to take three 2 year olds swimming by myself. So here’s…

Road Tripping: Pediatrician Approved
We made it safely down to Florida (with only one set of teeth marks in someone’s arm) after our long drive! It was actually kind of a vacation in itself and while I got mostly love from all the people who have been following our journey I definitely got some “mom judgement” from a few folks about my kids being in car seats so long… Just to clarify we don’t strap them in and drive for 12 hours a day here – we stop every few hours and get plenty of gross motor time running around parks, exploring gardens and museums or just crawling through random grass pretending to be…

Brown Bear, Brown Bear
We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Eric Carle in this house and decided to use it to create a little theme week! Lots of storytime activities to pair along with the book – one for each page of the story! This was a great way to extend the reading and talk about the ways things we see in books – like colors, numbers, days of the week etc. apply in real life. Brown Bear Day one was the star of the show – Brown Bear himself. We started with some paper plates and brown paint. While the kids were busy painting I cut…

Easter
I feel like Easter is always the holiday that sneaks up on me! As always it is quickly upon us and we worked hard this year to create Easter baskets that don’t over do it on the sugar (or the gifts)! We decided this year to keep all the kids the same as opposed to last year when they basically got individual presents. So today each kid got: A personalized name book A pull tube A pair of play glasses Gardening Gloves A fishing set A playdoh egg A mini chocolate bunny (it is Easter after all) The healthiest fruit snacks i could find Elmo Cookies Chalk Eggs and an…

Enjoying A Vacation With Kids
“Is it really a vacation though?” I have heard this so many times – taking your kids on vacation can be just as (if not more) exhausting than being at home with them if you let it, but we have learned our own ways to ENJOY time as a family. Many people would hesitate to bring kids that are still napping but for us it works! We actually get a little time for R&R and alternate our adventures. For example today the hubs is out having a drink and taking a chance to explore and do some photography while I rest up (and work) with the kids! Tomorrow I’ll do…
