Fine Motor Skills
Fine motor skills are basically those that require any little movements you do with your hands or feet (as opposed to gross motor skills which are full body). These include play tasks such as stringing beads, putting shapes in a sorter or cars down a race track. But they also include important life skills like using a spoon, buttoning a coat or tying shoes and things like writing or art that will further develop these skills as children grow. While your baby might not be ready to write all those little play tasks are preparing those muscles to be developed enough to succeed later on.
