I feel like Easter is always the holiday that sneaks up on me! As always it is quickly upon us and we worked hard this year to create Easter baskets that don’t over do it on the sugar (or the gifts)!

We decided this year to keep all the kids the same as opposed to last year when they basically got individual presents.

So today each kid got:

In our eggs we had some little pull back cars, dinosaurs, animal finger puppets and the rest of the fruit snacks/elmo cookies! The treats were definitely the favorite here – at some point they stopped caring about the toys and just wanted to find snacks, but we also made the mistake of doing the egg hunt before breakfast. Have to remember to eat first next year as our kids basically wake up starving!

They loved the egg hunt though and we were amazed how well our youngest did – and how little effort our older two put in to looking! All in all it was a fun morning. After breakfast we had some time to do Egg Crafts and read our new name books along with some of our favorite Easter books:

The egg crafts were a simple no mess solution that kept them busy and entertained (while we tried to make sure they had found all the eggs with food in them at least). Note to self – count the eggs.

For these we cut out a bunch of egg shapes from construction paper (just stack the paper and save yourself some time). Then handed out our dot art set so they could decorate the eggs. We hung these up around their play areas as Easter decorations so they could show off their work, but if you were doing a family dinner they’d make great place settings too.
